Dr. Savko's LASIK Story
I was dependent on glasses and contact lenses for over 20 years in order to see everything clearly beyond a foot from my face. When I got a corneal ulcer related to wearing contact lenses, I decided it was time to make a change.
Even eye doctors get anxious when it comes to surgery so I turned Dr. Dougherty, a surgeon whose skill I know well to perform my LASIK. I was amazed how quick and comfortable the procedure was. I woke up the next morning a perfect 20/20 and was back at work seeing patients. Now, many years later, I still have perfect 20/20 vision. It is terrific to just wake up and see. With the birth of my son in 2015, I really appreciate this the ability to see if I have to wake up any hour of the night instead of falling asleep in my contacts or fumbling around for my glasses. It's easier getting ready in the morning and a few less things to pack on vacation (not to mention being able to see when I swim).
